Event: AVRIL LAVIGNE: The Black Star Asian Tour 2012

AVRIL LAVIGNE took the stage at Stadium Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 18 February 2012; her last stop of her Black Star Asian Tour. The Canadian superstar drew approximately 14, 000-strong crowd with her infectious tunes and her feisty energetic personality!
Undoubtedly, she is my favourite pop star since I was young and of course, even so that I was granted access to meet her in Australia during her tour interview before this - what better way than to attend Avril Lavigne's concert in our very own homeland. A lil disappointed by the fact that I was unable to meet up personally with her again this time for I am sure - she would be glad to see and go 'Ahh... yer da chap in Australia last time. Yea yea.. I fergot, yer in Malaysia' Don't ask me what happened *laughs* but for those who were close to me rather knew what happened then... and da crew back then.
JOURNEY TO THE BLACK STAR
ARRIVING AT STADIUM MERDEKA
After a quickie dinner with Derek Khoo and Slyvia Tan in err... some Chinese Restaurant in Times Square, Derek and I took off to the stadium at about 7pm. Traffic was extremely bad! We made several turns, fully relying on my maps on my iPhone. We made several rounds before the thought of parking in a hotel crossed our head; and so we ended up parking in - OLYMPIC HOTEL!
GETTING INTO THE STADIUM
Along with the crowd, we swarm our way into the stadium. Stopping half way to redeem our Avril Lavigne limited Tune Talk sim card and apparently we are entitled for a lucky draw session - where I got myself this 'Turn Me On' T-shirt. Derek on the other note got a writing pad. After all this was done, we moved on along to the ROCK ZONE entrance.
AVRIL LAVIGNE COMES ON STAGE
Coming up for a the fans to catch a lil' glimpse of her at the start - she shouted gleefully greeting the fans with 'Hey, Kuala Lumpur!', waving a green star shaped glowstick.
'Are you ready?' she asked to the throngs of people in her concert last night.

TUNE TALK ZONE
We've had enough shots from the ROCK ZONE - so Derek and I moved on to Tune Talk Zone. There we were nearer to the stage but not totally at the front yet. We slowly made our way through and finally stood right at the front but a little towards the right of the stage.
AVRIL ROCKS THE NIGHT
My darling petite 28-year old sk8er chic performed about 17 of her hit songs from her favourite singles - My Happy Ending, When You're Gone, Sk8er Boi as well as her What The Hell and Smile from her recent Goodbye Melody album.
Halfway through the concert - we pretty much believe this was an encore when Avril bids farewell to the fans without having the much anticipated Complicated sang. The crowd went chanting, 'We want more. We want more. We want Avril. Avril! Avril! Avril!'
Her three-song encore performance also featured a surprise performance of Foster The People's Pumped Up Kicks performed by one of her band members.

With her final hit song - Complicated before bidding farewell to the Malaysian fans. I told Derek to have a look at the back of the stage as - poof there she goes with escorts and out of the stadium.
By far - this is Avril Lavigne's second visit to Malaysia.
Let's all look forward for her return.
Let's shout - AVRIL LAVIGNE WE WANT YOU BACK TO MALAYSIA!!! :)
